I like it, but the stains on the paper are too red imho and the letters on the book are too non yellow. But besides that it's very nice.

I know, I got some problems with lighting the scene... any suggestions?

I think the best way to fix the light is to re-create this setting in real life and see how it really works. Anyway, if the candle is the only source of light than any shadows cast by it would be black. Which would create an attractive/interesting contrast.
Also I recommend toning down the red on the paper, if it is supposed to be a stain it would only have a small hint of color.
It's a good start.

if the candle is intended to be the only sorcee of light in the scene, then it is overall to bright, and the shadows should be a lot darker, i would also try to make your textures look a little more worn, it would probably set the mood a little more IMO
other than that, its a great start:thumbsup:

I tried to make it darker as in real life, but it was too dark to see anything at all, so I tuned it by adding an ambinet light above the scene.
And what do you mean by worn textures?
