View Full Version : Bleached cloned objects
mridgers 11-23-2002, 02:22 PM When I clone (or mirror) and object in Max, sometimes the display of the object changes and it is not the same as what it was cloned from. Changing the objects colour or material has no effect and neither does changing the "Display Color" properties from Object to Material. It still stays white in the viewport. However, the cloned object renders fine.
It doesn't matter what I do, the object stays white. Why does this happen and what is the solution? It's really bugging.

Hi, mridgers,
I have had the same problem. I can't tell you why it's happening other than a bug, but here's the solution. Go into your bleached object's properites and click off 'show vertex color'. For some reason, Max likes to randomly check this on when you make clones or sometimes when you're using the skin modifier. I've noticed it over and over.
Anyway, that should bring back your object color, nice and sweet.
Cheerio,
