well the name modo suite the App. as a modeling tool, it pure joy to work with, but to me no matter how the Application changes to a full production bundle ( modeling animation and rendering) it will always be a modeling tool for me.

MODO the modeller

Yes Modo is a great app. to use, I think Im with you lexypobi im always gonna use Modo mainly for modeling.
Im using Modo on my brand new PC I just put together...but sadly instead of loveing Modo, I want to destroy it!
For some odd reason when to many polys are visible in a viewport, that viewport will freeze forcing me to hit 0 on the numbpad to get out then go back in. This is quite frustrating especially if Im working in Mod_quad!!

Maybe it has to do with my duel Gforce 6600 GT's

I guess I still love Modo haha

Its down to your Nvidia drivers...use the 78.01 driver as the 8x.xx have been reported to have problems.

Cheers.

That true, am using PC at the moment, and to be honest i cant count the number of time this app. has crased on me. the only good thing is the backup saving included in it, it really helps alot, but i one thing i dont like about modo is that, when you use a blue prints for something like car or any kind of modeling and later close your projects and re-opens it, you wont see the blue print with it, you always have to re-load your blue print. And that is very faustrating. i hope Lux will take a look at that in their next release

lexipobi,

Regarding the crashing - what are your system specs?

Modo 201 will have a backdrop feature in it.

here is a excerpt from the new feature page at: http://www.luxology.com/modo/201/features.aspx

New Backdrop Image Item

Saves with project file for persistence
Auto fit background image to mesh command
Direct editing of backdrop items
