I saw your post yesterday, so I went to look for a script/importer, anything. No luck, I thought for sure someone in here would have an answer for you, my only suggestions are, 1 export as .OBJ if you can? (I don't use XSI) Or, I'm sure polytrans could do the job, if you want to buy a piece of software. Good luck, I'm sure someone will eventually have the answer!:)
u are really lucky that this plugin is a free open source.
this page is the answer for u
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dotxsi4max/
btw, there is another alternative obj import script for xsi
http://www.softimage.com/xsinet/Addon_display_detail.asp?family=XNET&parent=14&id=1686&child=Import&netview=true
u can do the obj output from xsi and import in to max using obj import.
good luck!!!
