ok, i checked it out.
first off, what is this for? a class or a website or something?
anyway, about the animation. i'm gonna be honest with you, it's got a lot of problems. your poses/acting isn't reading at all. none of it. i really have no idea what the character is feeling/thinking at any time.
i'd get rid of your camera moves, or at least soften them up. they're really short and jarring.
your character is freezing a lot. you can get away with this in 2d, but not 3d. he needs to always be moving, even a miniscule amount, or he looks dead. moving holds. throw in some of those.
also, he has no weight. there's no overlapping action. no anticipation. all your curves are linear. no slow in's/out's. not the best advertisement for something called "Animasters".
you can't go wrong with "The Animator's Survival Kit". the book is perfect for beginning animatiors, all the way up to seasoned pros. remember, no matter what level you're at, there's always more to learn. even the greats are in a constant state of progression. don't give up. keep at it!

Thanks for the reply capel
This was the first 18 hrs classroom basics excercise for our students which included modeling rigging and animating the character, the result of which u have seen here.....i understand that start of the anim has some problems with moving holds and overlaps, as well as where the character is walking off....as for the weight and anticipation, we wud
appreciate if u can point out some problem areas in the anim......it wud be great as we can pass this vital info which we
get from u to the students so that they too learn from ur valuable inputs..
i agree that there r no slow in and outs done and the whole thing is linear as modifications were beyond the scope of
this excercise....but surely this will be taken care of in the next class.....
as for camera moves and facials...we havent focused on these two issues, so...we have Animation survuval kit and
just now we have bought Animating with Jeff Lew
We'll though rework it in parts and post another passes soon.....
Warm regards

.as for the weight and anticipation, we wud appreciate if u can point out some problem areas in the anim......
pretty much the whole thing lacks these principles.
i agree that there r no slow in and outs done and the whole thing is linear as modifications were beyond the scope of this excercise....but surely this will be taken care of in the next class.....
have you thought about starting with the bouncing ball? i think you need to. it looks like you don't really understand the principles of animation. it looks like you're in over your head with this exercise.
it just seems strange that things like weight and aniticipation were "beyond the scope of this exercise". these principles should be the focus of every exercise.
i hope this doesn't sound too harsh. i'm just trying to help.

I'm a little confused. Are you asking for people on this forum to tell you what to fix so that you can then teach that to your students?

the ball bounce is good. almost looks like dynamics. if it is, then that's not gonna help you guys learn keyframe animation. but if it IS keyframed, then good job.
i'd love to see an image of his/her graph editor.
has he/she done anything with any characters?

We all will take that as a compliment!
"then that's not gonna help you guys learn keyframe animation."

You're being very unproffesional towards a really great animator who's trying to help. If you're not serious about being here and improving animations then don't ruin it for everyone, please.
and is it so incredibly hard to write "you" or "are" instead of "u" and "r"?

Well..
I understand and appreciate your concern Chico but unfortunately this is your own thinking.
We all have seen Capel's work and think he needs no one to speak for him.
It could be just words or just the way of writing but i know what we all feel for him here.No sane person would do it kowingly but worrds can anytime be misinterpretted.
But if at all it gets reflected in any of our words, we are extremely sorry for that.
We all understand that everybody in this community is/are serious enough to be mentioned.
So lets get back to work and kick some animations.
Warm rgards

Chico: i think he meant that they wouldn't try to fool anyone by using dynamics and passing it off as keyframe animation.
anyway, your curves look good. nice and clean. i'm interested to see some more stuff.
