Looking good Ken, Showing more roundness/volume on the the torso would be nice. The light source is from above so I think you need to gradate the tone to darker at the bottom of his belly. In general I'm not a fan of geometric hard edged shapes placed behind the drawings. I would rather see it drawn in by hand and not just a vector looking rectangle. I understand why you put it there but would like to keep it more in tune with the sketch feel of the creature.

Just a personal opinion....

... the geometric background seems to cut right through the monster, making it distracting... how about a nice gradient wash (like light under water)?

Hi Noorlander,

That's all by hand, in my sketchbook. I roughed in the skeleton, then the body with blue pencil, did the shading with marker, then outlines in technical pen. I added the grey square in photoshop.
