View Full Version : Axis rotated?
Striff 12-06-2005, 06:22 PM Hey guys -
When I opened up Maya yesterday, my axis had been rotated. It rotated it so that Z was where the Y axis was, and Y where the Z axis was. My model had been rotated 90 degrees along the X-axis as well. Does anyone know how to revert it back to normal?

If I understand correctly, it sounds like your world is now Z-up instead of Y-up. You can change this in Window > Settings/Preferences > Preferences. Go to the Settings category on the left and then change the World Coordinate System from Z to Y.
If this isn't the case, then you may have just changed the Move tool's mode from World to Object or Local. World will always show a handle that's aligned with the world, while the others will show the results of object or parent rotations.

The first idea you had did the trick!
Thanks John!
