I'm doing a final project for one of my Maya classes and we need to recreate a scene. The focus is on textures and lighting. Right now, I'm having a bit of a problem trying to get the right lighting. I tried directional lights (worked ok), area lights (didn't work), spot lights (worked pretty well), and tests with rendering using global illumination and final gather. The test render I have right now is global illumination with an adjustments to some settings: Global Illum Accuracy is at 512, with the radius at 10 and photon accuracy is at 512 and the radius at 10 as well.

That's the test render so far. I just want to test the lighting before I go to far into the project.

That is what it's supposed to look like in the end. I realize that my perspective is off right now, but my main concern is making it look like a strong sun light (looks like around noon or early afternoon) coming through the windows and illuminating the inside.
