as a little xmas present to the "community" i'm posting this mesh as a free download to turbosquid. have fun with it.

i'm still trying to get the settings to work right for that. i'll probably have to export just the low poly version and i'll assign a material to just the parts that are supposed to be smoothed to make it clear. i'm using some feature of maya that .obj files don't support so i have to do some work to make it export.
