Hi,
I just got Rhinoceros 3.0 Full version and will start the tutorials that came with the package soon. I am really interested in creating cars in Rhinoceros and I have heard comments that Rhinoceros is great for cars. Could anyone please give me any tips on modelling and rendering or tell me where to find tutorials that will give me everything I need to create cars (ie, Basic modelling, basic rendering). I am a complete beginner and know nothing about Rhinoceros but I do have basic knowledge of other software such as Blender3d and anim8or which aren't commercial software. I have tried modelling a car in blender but could not find any tutorials on cars and I now know that Rhinoceros is great for cars so I am going to switch. Any help would be much appreciated :)

It's the best low-cost NURBS modeling software that I know about. Beware they you'll be messing with NURBS, which is has a much steeper learning curve than poly-modeling. It is worth it in the end though.

As far as rendering, I export it as an *.igs & then import into 3DS Max. A few small bugs I've noticed... If you have a 360-degree revolve (such as a sphere or headlight) you may have to split it in half for the import/export operation. Secondly, some flat surfaces may not export with their trims intact - for that, duplicate the border & then retrim.

One of my friends has a few good tutorials - http://www.wt-design.com/ - they require some knowledge of rhino and 3D modeling techniques though. He's a DESIGNER, like myself.
