View Full Version : Mirror uv with model
Geser 12-05-2005, 05:30 AM I have model and mirrored copy of it. Model's and it's mirrored copy have the same uv's. But can uv be mirrored too when i mirror model? I need to have something like symmetry modifier, but it have to work for uv also.

yes it is possible
It should work with symmetry.
Apply an uwrap after that.

If I got it right, you have to put the symmetry on top of uvw map if you want it to be mirrored.

here what to do.
I have just checked it up.
Select your object.
Add a symmetry or make a copy mirrored and attach it (that's what i do when i work)
After you can make a "collapse to" so you don't have a too big stack.
Add the unwrap modifier.
Open the edit of the unwarp modifier.
Tick "select element" in your selection modes.
Select the uv of the half of the object and move it.
And suddenly you will see the other half of your model which was hidden by the first half. (i'm i clear?)
Dont forget to weld the 2 uv parts (the stich tool is very useful)
