I thought I'd post some of the work I've been doing on a series of shorts about two characters called Red and Whitey. So far I've finished modelling Whitey and come up with a rough shader, which I'm fine tuning. Posted is a piece of concept art of the characters. (I have a load of other sketches but no scanner) and a turnaround of Whitey with the shader on him.

I'm in the process of rigging Whitey at the moment. Between my full time job of course. :)

To view render right click and save target as to get the clip of loop -

I'm going to post some concept art of Red - I've redesigned him and I like this design much better. I'm working on rigging at the moment. I've gotta finish my quota before the end of the week so I'll probably get lots done on the weekend.

Glad to hear you like it so far though.

Here's a piece of concept art for Red I worked on during my break today. I'll post a render test I did for the background and enviroment. Basically these 3D characters are in a 2d toon shaded enviroment, with a flat colour. Much like the video clip by jameriquai Don't give Hate a Chance.

Keep checking my site for updates too because I've been putting the attachments on my forum attachments and I will eventually run out of space for pics.

Sorry about the delay updating. Here are some updates of Whitey - rendered using Renderman. Which just came out for Maya. Fastest renderer I've used ever. We did a test render without textures with GI, motion blur, depth of field, ray tracing and it took 14 seconds there renders took a minute (on highest quality and textures bumped the time up) still thats faster than mental ray.

Well I only have time at the moment because I'm on Christmas holidays. I work full time animating a kids show so any spare time I get I work on this. :-) Shame you don't have an animation school in your country. In Australia in my animation course we had people from all over do the course. Brazil, Thailand, and China.

More updates soon! (what I can do on this slow computer anyway)
