hi everyone, ive posted a couple models here and realized they were hardly cgtalk quality. After some thought i realized that i seem to have problems setting up proper edge flow. i noticed that instead of nice quads my models tend to have more of a patch grid edge flow. does anyone have any ideas on how to practice this?

In my [extremely limited] experiences, the best way to learn mesh flow is by example. Take a look at some respected modeler's wire frame views and study how everything flows.

Try to replicate that flowing look by modeling… A lot. Over time, you'll get the hang of it.

*Edit: Forgot to mention: Try to draw the mesh flow onto a 2d image plane for a side and the front. It serves as good practice.

check this out. it helps. http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=38469
great topology resource.

that and lots of practice. Study those wire frames, experiment with different modeling techniques, . theres no easy explaination really practice practice!

Now go on, young grasshopper....
