Here is my question

A job ad pops today ( Lest say shading TD ) and i see my self qualified, So i send my stuff through, Then next week the same company has another job ( Jr Lighting TD ) which again i see my self fit,

Should i send my material again or does it make me an a-- who sends his reel to every ad.

Thanks

honestly that is a tough one..... to me it seems like they are looking for someone that specializes in certain catagories..... if you apply for both then they may think that you are just grasping for straws.... i would wait and if you get the interview i would point out how you are also qualified for that other position.

I once applied for a job and later they posted in the paper annonymously and i applied and got a really rude letter from the company saying ...' no need to keep applying we got your resume the first time'

If it's another job they are posting, I would go ahead and write them first and ask. If nothing else, just let them know that you have submitted material the previous week for another job, and that you would like to consider that material for this new job... And that, if requested, you wouldn't mind resubmitting your material for the other position, if it would be helpful. But yeah, I think that would be the way to go... Email or call up and ask to talk to someone in HR or whatever about it first. Otherwise, yeah, I could see how they could start to get annoyed. But don't worry, it's their job to be annoyed by people all day long! :)

I say give them a call and explain that your intereasted and qualified for both. I don't think sending a duplicate would really hurt too much but calling is a lot better, it show more intereast and determination to me.

When you apply for a job, and in your resume, you should always specify your range of talents and the extents of each.

The HR dept. of a company is usually aware of jobs across the board, and if they don't see you fit for the first position, but they think you fit for the second, they will contact you with a proposal for that, or eventually, if they refuse you or they don't get back in touch, it's fair to send an enquiry and mention that the other position is also interesting and fitting for your person.

Branching off your applications to the same company and project, in the same timeframe, is NOT a good thing, your resume should take care of covering that eventuality.

Sending in reels every week seems a bit excessive, not that it would hurt anything. If months have passed and you have updated your reel, then certainly send again.

Companies _do_ consider you for different/lesser positions than what you applied for, that's a normal part of how companies give job offers. If your cover letter or the objective in your resume was too narrow in describing your interests, then that's something you should think about for the future.

Thanks for all th enotes guys, Am gonna give a try and call to see what they suppose me and if all of you are suggesting that they would consider me for their different positions then there wont be much of a reason to resend my stuff,

Cheers
