I need to put together a “pro-sumer” digital audio recording rig. I need recommendations on hardware and software. Am familiar with proTools, Nuendo, cool edit/ all adobe products. Here are the requirements:
-Windows OS
-Can handle “infinite” number of tracks (ie 300+)
-Preferably 5.1
-Record multiple input channels simultaneously
-Would like options on external user interface possibilities (ie, slider boards etc)
I guess I am asking if there are any pre-built machines designed for this (such as the proTools setup) or do you have any sound card/human interface card recommendations that I could add to a machine I put together.
Budget approx $6K
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need more information.
Thanks
