I've modelled this sink by poly modelling, probably not too efficient either - how do i stop the diagonal lines appearing in my quads when rendering and in viewport?

Is it due to the bevel, should i have nodelled this differently to stop this? Seem to get it a lot on my models!

is it a boolean? cause that's probably the issue... there's some stuff on the Theoretical Sub-D forum about this, and also check out npower power booleans if you have some extra cash handy... it does wonders

try adding a 'smooth' modifier maybe?

I wouldn't use a smooth modifier on a messed up mesh like this.
Try smoothing groups, select all the faces you want to have as one smooth surface and apply a smoothing group.

got it sorted - a 3x3 plane, extrude down in the centre poly for the basin, and edge extruded down for the outer. Simple single bevel to outside, smooth on top of it all to more than 45 degrees and bingo.

Just got to add the detail etc now - maybe use shapemerge for the plughole or cut the mesh - will try both.

Thanks Guys
