Hi all.

I am not good in 3D at all :annoyed: . I started learning MAX a bit but.. cudn't complete it due to some reasons. I asked my friend to make an animation for a flash website and so he did. But now my client wants something different.. he wants the logo to first appear in WHITE and then change it's color to different shades. Any idea of how I can pull this thing in MAX!? I really need some fast help from you guys! I am counting on u again.:buttrock:

Thanks

Zeeshan

P.S: I don't know which section of the site this post belongs to? like Texture and Surface or is Animation the right place to ask such stupid questions?

i am not a proficient max user, but if you have the logo in max then i'm sure you could animate the color of the logo object.

i am not sure what else is happening in this animation, but if it is strictly color change then another approach would be to create the different colored versions of the logo in fireworks, photoshop, etc. and then fade between them in flash.

Hi there!

See I am not exporting the animation as a SWF instead I am gona import it's avi in FLASH MX which gives greater control over compression and the file size.

I can upload the max file if you want to see it.

Thanks

Hey there,

I am not a proficient user myself, but i think if you want to change the colours of your logo, you could try changing the lightning colours, or maybe adding a couple of lights in the same position, and turning each light for a limited amount of time.

To do that, use the trackview and modify the intensities of your light, so that each light is on for a short period of time.

Hope that helps, you need any further explanation, I would be happy to answer.

You could try setting setting keyframes on the diffuse color in the material editor. I tried it before and it worked so if your going for basic color change you can use this. you can just make keyframes for the colors you need and the material editor will fade in between the colors.

Hope this helps.

You can assign one or several sub-branching mix materials (depending on how many times you want the colour to change), and then animate the mix amount. That is the simplest way to control colour transition and time behaviour.

Another way, is to simply animate the colour the colour of the material over several keyframes like described, but the problem with this mehtod is that some unpredicted colours may arise during transition from one keyframe to the next. (but this should only worry you if youre looking for particular and specifi colours in your animation)

Hope this helps
