Gnomon's MEL DVD's: The official thread
drGonzo 12-02-2005, 03:47 PM The 5th of December Gnomon will release 4 DVD's about MEL I created for them: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/comingsoon.html
This thread will serve as the support center for these DVD's.
If you have any questions/remarks/suggestions about them, please dont hesitate to post them here or mail me personally at kevin_mannens@yahoo.com
Wether you have bought them already and have a question about the content, or you are planning to buy them and you want to know if something is covered, everything goes - as long as it is about the DVD's.
(I will do my very best to check this thread daily. Unfortunately, I also have a job, so there is no harm in sending me some mails if I don't reply fast enough.)
Send me a mail if you want to have a wee peek at the table of content

$temp = 4;
$new = 3;
If Kevin meant $new instead of $temp;
Print" Will be releasing 3 vids on Mel on December 5th/n";
Else
Ignore this.
Sorry, was kind of bored. Looking forward to these. As you can see, I really do need them.

There are in fact 4 DVD's. It's just that MEL 101 is a bundle of 2 DVD's. MEL 101 is 12 hours of lecture BTW. If that isn't value for money, then what is? ;-)

On the cover of "MEL for character animation" DVD we can spot the UI of the Final-Rig script.
Do you try to explain the logic behind that kind of auto-riggers in that DVD?

I've been looking at these for some time. However, since they cost over 200NOK ($30) I have to pay taxes and import duties to Norway. I have to get Gnomon to subtract the American fees before sending it to me. If they can't do that I won't buy them... :( Are there ANY resellers of GnomonDVDs so I can bypass this insane silly law? Maybe I should just contact Gnomon and ask.
Saw the demo and it looked good...

Yes. Although I only use Final-Rig to illustrate what an auto-rigger is, the code I create is completely my own.

Maybe I should just contact Gnomon and ask. I think that might be the best idea. Mail David Caplan at caplan@gnomon3d.com
