Title: Downfall Of Heaven
Name: Timo Vihola
Country: Finland
Software: Photoshop
Another "long in the making" painting, pushed myself to add the finishing touches tonight. Many things still bother me about it, never got the proportions to look nice and balanced for example. Though I could have made him proportioned all nice and normal, but that wasn't the goal here, I wanted to try something unusual this time. The character is Arch-angel Loki, I didn't have the exact bible story in my mind when painting this, it was more of my interpretation of it.. If that makes any sense :)
I think that's all for now, off to bed for me.

you have a differet style, I liked it , but you could work a little bit more on the wings.
I think they need to be a little bit more translucent.

I think it is intentional but the character looks extremely rigid and inanimate. I like the painting style though. Good job.

Very nice technique!
Very good work, though i like your older pieces much better!
Looks like you tried a slightly different style this time.

Browsed through old archives and found these:

That first sketch I think is well over two years old, the ones with the red outfit being quite recent.
Kamashullah: Good point about the wings. Thanks!
Kyena: Yeah, Mullins is my favourite artist and has definitely influenced the way I work
Meykurt, Thanks. I'm not very happy about the anatomy either ;)
Xeophex: Good point. I think at first I was going to make the image very sculpture like (check the second sketch I posted) but along the road I changed my mind and added so much color that the original monochromatic look disappeared but it's still apparent in the stiff posing - composition etc. and I don't think it mixes very well..
Jose Pardo: Thx!
Imo: Ridley Scott said in an interview "Art is like a shark, you gotta keep swimming." :D
Johanflood: Thanks!
Gaianix, Glad you like it :)
Now that I look at those work in progress pics I kinda hope that I would've gone with the monochromatic sculptural look.. even though it's a bit cliche in heaven depictions
