This is my first post on cgtalk, so I'm looking forward to seeing the feedback on my project. I've been working on a forest environment for a gnome story animation that is for a class project (there really aren't enough gnomes being done in cg). I'm open for any comments/suggestions you might have on how I can make it better.

The gnobbly looking hero tree is actually a stand-in tree at this point. I've made a more detailed tree in Zbrush, but am having a great deal of difficulty in getting the displacement maps exported properly and having them show up in Maya. Any advice on that matter is very welcome.

Can you post your gnome reference images and a sketch of what you might be going for (doesn't have to be Da Vinci quality). This way we can better serve critiques. :)

Looks great! Not very realistic with all that lush grash under the dense forest, but it looks great!
