aw... thanks.
looks a pretty good result, though maybe tone down the sky object that you can actually see as a background (the one without the gi turned off on it) as it's a bit bright behind everything, and perhaps bring up the contrast so theres more dark in the background sphere that emits the gi that way you will get more shadows and contrast and less overall lighting. but good work. excellent models btw.

Thanks Kiwi... I think I'm going to do a full animation with the guy in the middle (the one with the baggy pants) this new lighting setup should be really helpful.
....now if I can get the shoulders to behave while the arm moves around, I'll be in good shape! ...literally.
Anywho, I'm gonna tweak w/ that lighting setup later on tonight... or tomorrow... or sunday = )

actually i never posted it on my website. Anders took it and turned it into a truly excellent tutorial on his website
http://www.cartesiuscreations.com/
and the full hdri method that i posted (there are a couple of extra hints in there) is here, here's a copy on this thread somewhere, but i can find the one on bhodinut easier
http://forum.bhodinut.com/viewtopic.php?t=624
anyhow hope that this helps with your HDRI explorations. btw v8 now supports loading HDRI format images in, so you should be able to find those on the web without too much toruble. :)
