Hi me again with some more Maya questions. Here at uni weve got 2 versions of Maya, 4 and 4.5. It seems odd I know and in a few months the exisiting labs will be upgrading but as I can only use these labs on certain days there id like to know how to use them.

Maya 4 and 4.5 seem very similar, however the 'Shelfs' do seem different. 4.5 has a 'General' option which allows me to move the camera, view, rotate and zoom etc. But the Shelfs in 4.0 do not seem to have this.

Are they hidden somewhere else because I cant figure out how to rotate, zoom the differnet views.

It seems very odd I know :)

Hold the alt key and click drag with your mouse.

ALT + LMB = Rotate
ALT + MMB = Pan
ALT + LMB +MMB = Dolly

Yep. And these shortcuts are waaay more natural!

You can also Dolly With ALT+RMB

And "F" is also useful - it centers the view on the selected object.
