View Full Version : how to model a bullet thread/ammo chain for gun?

hi there. i was wondering if anyone could share their technique for modeling a bullet casing thread for a weapon (please see pic). i’ve tried a few different approaches w/ no luck and my ideas are drying up.

any help is appreciated.

I modeled one of these a few years ago. I found a way of modeling using animation but I cant really remember how I did it (sorry)

Basically you can specify a sweep curve and have the original bullet travel down the curve using a basic animation and leave instances of itself along the curve. I'll post again if I can remeber the setup

Yeah, use what are called animation snapshots under the animate menu. It will work great. Just look it up in the help, it's quite simple to use.
