Hi there, could someone please help me set up my Windows Media Center Edition operating system (oem). I bought a copy of this the other day and was happy to discover that it was compatible with my 'Avermedia AVerTV DVB-T USB2.0' external tv tuner. I spent the whole of yesterday trying to get the tv (and a DVD) to work through Windows Media Center but I just can get it to work.
I found this site: http://www.theglowlounge.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/128_121/products_id/584 (http://www.theglowlounge.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/128_121/products_id/584) that gave a link to updated Media Center Drivers for my TV tuner (A800 driver only - no update for the tv 'application' program was available - I assume this isn't necessary as Windows Media Center is taking over that job). I also downloaded the Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility, I installed both the driver and the Checkup Utility. The Decoder Checkup Utility found a compatible decoder and I set that to the preferred one. I felt sure that once the decoder was set things would work fine but I'm still getting a blank screen when I try the TV (sometimes I hear a half syllable or a word spoken then blank). Also when I try to view a DVD I get the same blank screen - I can view the DVD in Window Media Player 10 or in WinDVD5 (where the preferred compatible decoder came from).
EDIT:I can receive tv programs using the application program that came with the tuner.
I just can't get the tv to work when I try to watch tv via Windows Media Center (My tv > Live tv).
Please, could someone help me to sort this out - it would be much appreciated.
Cheers
