Hi folks, another quick question...

Anyone know why it would give me this error message when i try and export a model as an OBJ?

Warning Skipping Nurbs Surfaces

Thanks for any help in advance...

obj export only works on poly surfaces (at least in maya.. i even think obj can not handle nurbs at all - but not really sure)

convert all your nurbs to poly first

cheers

Hi, thanks alot, i did the conversion to polys and it still kicks back the same error. Created alot of vertices in that conversion let me tell ya....lol

Does it tell you what surfaces it is skipping? Maybe you didn't convert all the surfaces to polygons, or you still have NURBs construction curves in the scene. Try opening the OBJ and see what's missing. Also, you could try selecting just the objects you want to export and use "export selected" instead of exporting the whole scene.

OBJ does not support NURBS surfaces at all, you need to export to IGES if you want to export NURBs. OBJ only supports polygonal objects, UVs, basic point attributes, basic material attributes, normals, and groups.

I think i may have left in the nurbs curves by mistake. I'll have to open it up after lunch and take a look. There was only 4 nurbs objects all built using an extrusion along a path.
