Cool, but for drawing I already use painter, for modelling I use Rhino and for rendering 3dsmax and Brazil... ok, it's not an integrated suite, so it has some workflow benefits, but the results are better I think...
Will try it out though :)

i'm sure stuodio tools is a feat to learn, but are there tools built in that would make modeling vehicles easier? i mean are their tools that take steps out or save time? thanks in advance.;)

u use the same kinda license that maya uses.
i got the demo version of studio 9.6 when it was the latest.
studio is like rhino times about say 100?
maybe thats an under estimate.
its a really really nice package. esp the sketching abilities. really smooth and nice.
Sweet.. gunna get it gunna get it...

Really? I have been using Rhino and it seems that its fillets seem more stable that Studio. Also its far more intuitive. I sat down at the station and without too much instruction I was able toigure some things as I went along. Maybe I have not seen any advanced features in Alias, but I have reached about Level 2 level Alias and it seems that Rhino can do most if not all of the modelling that Studio can. I wish you could sketch in it but other than that the surfaces seem to be top notch. The surfaces are robust & dont disappear when you trim and fillet and its a much lighter program. Snapping is also more intuitive. Is Alias that much better for modeling for ID and car design? Especially when you combine Rhino with Flamingo photometric rendering.

Ive been using Alias since version 8, around version 9 my college got Maya 1.5, and we learned it for animation. The 1 undo thing was the animation killer in alias. Alias is great for modeling with tangency and its raytracing is still very fast. I use Alias 9.7 when im working on product designs, and maya for everything else. Its nice to see A/W making a eval version of alias. My girl friend, used rhino for a year, then switched to Alias, she has never gone back. =)

I was told the most of the ships in Clone wars was done in Design Studio.

Well, never hurts to try it out, although rhino is still much more affordable...
