CGTalk - Sticky Spheres?

I have two spheres a specific distance apart that I need to stay that way. I've tried various Xpresso solutions but, if they work at all, most have problems. You see, it's not only sticking them together that I'm trying to do, I'm also trying to make them retain the ability to rotate around each other but never move farther apart.

Attached is one file with two versions that don't work.

Anyone have a better idea?

Hi,
check the attached file. You need the difference vector between the positions of the objects and keep it constant by reducing it to a normal and multiplying it with the intended distance.
