Few days ago I've got my first pen and I am trying to do something in Painter. I don't realy take advantage of the software, because I didn't learn to use it jet, just take my pen and paint...

I'm fascinated with illustations that I've sean so far on this forum.

Let me know what you think of mine...

keep practicing you will get better and better. I can see a lot of potential here. Really observe your subject as you are painting. For instance look closely at your own eyes. What do the eyelids look like? What do the rims of your eyes look like? Where are the eyelashes rooted? Etc. A mirror is one of the most useful tools you can have. Anyway congratulations on posting and welcome to the forum.

You're showing nice improvement already, I totally feel you btw. I have a Wacom now, pr actually my bro has bought one. But I barely use it..when I do I don't seem to be able to accomplish anything. It's just so hard to make something, even simple things :S But I think if you spend enough time on it, you will always become better! And with teh advice of some ppl on this board you will be helped a lot, so I hope more ppl will notice this thread! Keep on going mate, one advice, maybe make the hairs a lil less rough and hard, play with the opacity and the color.

Ciao

You should down-res the images a bit. It makes it easier for people to see it all at once without scrolling. It will look better also.

Not much, but something I've done with the mermaid:

I like your concept of a mermaid. It's a very original and interesting concept. The face looks a bit masculine and the breasts look very round not a human like breast, more artificial looking. But overall I like the way details and imagination put into the piece.
