I finally got a copy of Dragons Lair 3D!!!! Dragons Lair was a series that helped sculpt my love of art and animation and games for that matter while growing up.

It was announced about 4 years ago that a new all 3D version was going to be released!! I was psyched when i heard that Bluth and the original crew were who was making it too!!!

Let me just say IT SHOWS!!! This is one of the best games i have played in a VERY long time!!!!!

Dirk is amazingly animated........he really looks just like the original.....its wierd there are some times when the camera moves to just the right cinematic angle and it looks exactly like the original!!!

If you were an avid DL fan you will also notice that among the 250 or so rooms in DL3D are exact replicas (even with the same way of solving the puzzles and the same traps!) of the original Dragons Lair!!!! Its great i found myself coming into a room and being like......whoa, that was from the original.....how did i solve it then.....oh yeah.....and it would work!! All the new content is just as incredible and eye blasting! Even the control is some of the best ive played!

The score in this game too is of the best you will hear! Sounds like a real movie.

The guy that did the original voice of Dirk did it again, so there arent any shifts in characters to get used to........actually a LOT of the original sounds are there too!

So basically what you get is a game that entertains as much as the original, looks really damn close to the original......gives you a LOT more content, and best of all.....YOU FINALLY GET TO COMPLETELY CONTROL DIRK!!!!!!!!!

I hope the remake Time Warp, and maybe even Space Ace like this one!!!!

Im not usually one for remakes of classics......but this one is VERY WORTHY!!!!

check it out if not for the technical aspects.......it has some of the best animation and character work i have ever seen in a game!

Ok, now go out and get a copy!!

Oh and it even has a cool, making of movie in it thats like 30 mins long!!!

At the end of it Don Bluth says they are in Pre-Production with a DRAGONS LAIR MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is by far some of the greatest news i have heard in a long time!!!!!!

Bluth has always been and will always be my fav!! The Rats Of Nimh would mop the floor with Mickey!!!!!

Excellent. I remember losing many quarters playing it at the convenience store or the arcade. Excellent.

Yeah, remember all those great films that Bluth has done since then.

Hey maybe Don will use the profits from the new movie to pay all the animators he screwed. Yeah, I thought not. :thumbsdow

Interesting. I didn't know Bluth was personally responsible for paying the employees of Fox Animation Studios.

Interesting, I guess you forgot that the Bluthmeister has been around before Fox Studios. Or did you think that was his first job?

What specifically are you talking about? Which animators from which project has he screwed out of payment?

He left folks at Bluth L.A. and Bluth Ireland owing them back pay. His track record for this is a mile long.

That said I just want to apologize to Gentle Fury for taking his thread off track. Like you I also loved the original Dragon's Lair game. As little as I think of Don Bluth the man, I too spent tons of cash on that game and the screen caps I've seen of the new game look great.
