I write simple shader that convert mental ray shadingengine to maya_shadingengine.
After you use it you'll never have a problems with mr shaders alpha and bad maya bump with mr shaders. It solve problem with bump combiner too. You may use Matte Opacity with mr shaders now.
If you want try it you should download shaders_p 2.8 (http://www.puppet.cgtalk.ru/download/shaders_p_2.8.zip) and update files from archive in attachment.
You should connect your mr shader to Input Color. Don't forget enable "Export with Shading Engine" in Shading Group.
P.S. It's just first beta, need for test.
