Itanium's nickname is Itanic, i'm sure you can figure out whether this is a good thing or not.

Just so you know, they sell servers, not really workstations. Theyre expensive and EXTREMELY NOISEY

Itanium is working with sgi server and don't thing sgi server or workstation offer
rendering solutions

and itanium are 1ghz or 700 mghz i don't no but i checked can't remmember

why don't u try art vps rendering solutions they clame they are fastest rendering

hardware and very impresive rendering quality and super fast it is 40 or 16 time faster

then workstations even it is faster then dual core

I was thinking about vps but it's good only for a lot of raytracing stuff. we're doing a lot of gi and using vray so it's not good solution.
