Perhaps you should add a frame of the sequence in your post, just to make people curious about it.

It stops in the middle. Why?
The camera shake looks to artificial and is too weak, to short. the impact looks very painted on top, looks like it has no effect on the ground, it should be intersected by the ground, at least at the start, a bit cut off, not that round. The meteor looks very small, the trace of clouds (looks good, but way too small) and the meteor should be much bigger. And add motion blur to the dbris that starts flying around, I can see thae single objects and they don't look very convncing to me.

Wow ! I love it! It is like the meteor opened up a wormhole! Who would have guessed
a message would be so destructive! I really love it! Polishing of my Italian wine, now white
and oh ya ,was married to an Italian girl....love it, keep it up!

Looks like a solid start - but I agree with one of the previous posters - the explosion looks too seperate from the background plate - particularly the lack of movement other than the meteors... needs some grass swaying in the breeze a bit and a more directional explosion (in the direction the meteor is moving) rather than the uniform sphere moving in all directions... I'd also let the animation run on a bit longer instead of stopping so abruptly...
