just starting out on Zbrush been using Max.
I bring in my lo poly model from max that i then want to make a hi poly version of.How would i start.I have just watched gnomon video on the interface etc.
I need help with getting started:-
I bring in my lo poly from max to zbrush.
Do i make a clone and only make one high poly?

I am really looking for a beginners guide to normal mapping using max 7 and zbrush.
Several people have left me some feedback under Game/art design and here is what they said and i am going with this for know as one of them said he will help out with normal mapping in max when i get to it.
"Make the meshes, export hi and lo OBJ from ZBrush"

"Model Low-Poly in Max, bring that to ZBrush as OBJ, adjust Low-Poly, create High-Poly, export both out of ZBrush as OBJ, then Unwrap and do the normalmap in Max".

How do i set my model up in zbrush so i have one that will be my lo poly and one my hi?
Or by adding divides to lo poly and adding detail i am essentially with both thehi/lo as one and i can view get by dropping the divide
Any help warmly received, like i said i wayched the avi and cannot wait to get stuck in

hey man,
under the tools area, you'll see a morph target scroll down menu...select create morph target...this will store your low poly object so you can go back if you want to create a displacement map in the future of your detail...than once you have done that, you can go to the geometry section, and select divide, which will subdivide your model until your heart is content with the level of detail you want to achieve, above the level of subdivisions you will see lower res, and higher res, this enables you to switch between high res, and low res...while adding detail, its good to use the smooth transformation, to smooth out detail you are adding.
hope this helps
check out Zcentral too, theres alot there that will help you!
