I'm stunned at how it doesn't look rubbish :)

Well, to be fair, it has Johnny Depp in it. Can't be rubbish.

Not on the CG elements. Did some technical work on set; and a friend of mine is one of the pirates. :)

Lot of fun. Nothing too exciting to discuss really. While POTC was a blast, I think working on The Terminal was more exciting as 95% of it took place at 1 location; whereas sets & stages for POTC 2&3 were scattered all the way from Disney & Universal down to St. Vincent & the Bahamas (didn't get to go there). Due to the 1 location nature of The Terminal you pretty much got to meet everyone and work with them everyday.

anyway... gotta run.

take care.

Not that Im a connoisseur of movies(I like what I like and thats all I claim), but I really felt the first one was great, a real sleeper in terms of bang for buck.

This one looks just as good!

For the people who'd better like it in *.mov format:

CLICK! (http://moviewallpapers.net/module.php?section=potc2)

It also seems this one has less audio problems... :)

I think it looks quite exciting... In fact I've been waiting for this 'first visual' stuff from this Pirates 2, and I think this might be only a teaser... The PotC(1) teaser was not that impressive, but the trailer was! Maybe the second one reveals more (although this one yet revealed very humorous stuff ;) ).

Lets hope the will be a higher-res version soon! :)

And just lets hope that this will still keep the 'scary' stuff that the first one also contained (that it wouldn't be only commedy ;) ).

We just got to trust Gore Verbinski and his crew (ánd ILM)! ;)

Don't quote me on this but I think it's one of the crew members of Davey Jones. I'm prettu sure I saw artwork for him somewhere.

Too bad it's so small and dark. You can barely make out Davey Jones and the squid attack.

Neato. Hope it will be as entertainingly flimsy as the first one.

Wonder if this means pirate renders will peak in the gallery again? :D

Creed
11-25-2005, 03:42 PM
Once again thrown into the world of the supernatural, Captain Jack Sparrow finds out that he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, Captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. With time running out, Jack must find a way out of his debt or else be doomed to eternal damnation and servitude in the afterlife. And as if this weren't enough, the Captain's problems manage to wreck the wedding plans of a certain Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, who are forced to join Jack on yet another misadventure.

July 7, 2006 = very long time to wait

Why does Davey Jones look like a cross between a squid and a pirate? Why squid?

Davy Jones looks really cool! Is he all CG?

Just like Barbarosa and the skeleton pirates in the first film, their cursed forms will be mostly CG.

Why does Davey Jones look like a cross between a squid and a pirate? Why squid?

Their particular curse has the Flying Dutchman crew being a cross of human form and marine creatures. Actually that image from Davey Jones is very small, he is a cross between squid and crab. His right leg and left hand are crab like, while his face and right hand are squid like (at least the concept art depicted him that way some time ago).

depp's character "sparrow" was the saving grace of the first film, if not it would have been pretty stale, they seem to be focusing mainly on him in the trailer, obviously the producers made a wise choice there....but lets hope the entertainment value isnt shadowed by this studio cash in sequel...

Well I saw it thankfully...it looks promising. Coming out Summer 2006 I'm sure...? They've already finished this one? Wow. And I hope they won't try to mimick the first one. The second one's gotta be unique...and of course with new adventures...new gigs with Johnny Depp and crew...oh I do hope so.

But nothing beats the first movie. ;)

Coming out Summer 2006 I'm sure...?

Pirates is set nto open July 7, 2006. Pirates 3 will come out till 2007.

They've already finished this one? Wow.

Well they are filming parts 2 and 3 simultaneously. Stuff for part 2 is mostly in the can but they are still shooting in the Caribbean at the moment.

And I hope they won't try to mimick the first one. The second one's gotta be unique...and of course with new adventures...new gigs with Johnny Depp and crew...oh I do hope so.

Well there are certain similarities like having another cursed crew, but the connection now lies with Depp's Sparrow, not Bloom's character.

Thanks for the new link! (time to get this modem cranking)

EDIT: The higher quality looks significantly better. I thought the first one was merely "good" (according to my tastes) however I'm kind of looking forward to watching this one.

Get VLC media player, it's an open source media player and I've yet to come across a file it won't play, no codecs to install or anything, it just plays it.

Damn, that looks fun. The higher-res trailer made it clear that Davey Jones doesn't look as hokey as I thought he did, though that hammerhead shark-pirate thing guy doesn't look too great in my opinion. I hope it's not a guy in a suit.
