Can you post a link to those? Sounds interesting.

Yesh, you can get them still,. but are they streamed, or?

it's awesome man...

http://www.mesmer.com/?loc=/public/readtut.php&qs=in%3D50

it's a full 140 min session on sub-d modeling humans
they aren't streamed, they each open in a quciktime window (not in your browser) but the thing is the quicktime player (non-pro), wont let you save videos, even if they're playing locally.....man...if someone could host them..... or put them ona gmail account or something

I think you can find the videos in your temporary internet files folder after you have full loaded them.

or you could hit ctrl-i and use the direct link...

they cannot be saved even with quicktime pro ..

ctrl-i ?

That opens book marks, no direct link.

Well it doesn't seem to like opera so I'm using ie. When you click the vid it opens another window and for me it also opens the quicktime player. In quicktime player you can hit ctrl + i and it will open a movie info window. In that window it'll say source, copy the url and download from that.

Goto mesmer.com, click gallery: video tutorials, then you'll see a ton of free vids.

oh .. the english version of quicktime has another shortcut probably.
what i meant are the movie properties. there you can see the direct link and then download the video ..

Yeah, calimity has linked them now. But when they are opened in your Quicktime player, just go to Windows > Show movie info, and the source file (.mov) will be shown, easy to download.

^^ thanks for link, lots of free stuff.

Hey Folks -
I am publishing FREE the work I have done, but please abide by the method I have chosen to distribute the content.... i.e..... streaming.
This weekend I'll move most of the stuff to a faster server, so you crazy download happy kids don't kill my internet connection.
I am impressed that it didn't take more than a day for you all to find the stuff, and that there are so many QT knowledgable folks out there who can copy/paste the redirection URLS. Kind of a flaw in Apple's security model, I'd say.
So: please use this link:
http://www.mesmer.com/public/readpublicarticle.php?in=1154

and while you're at it, tell me what you think of my photography:
http://www.mesmer.com/public/readpubartcom.php?in=1158

And maybe if I get time I'll poste some shader stuff, too.
Later -

Hi Anthony,

Cheers for making all your stuff free
This would help all the "poor" students out there getting more knowledge about XSI...

What I've read about your latest career move, are you dropping of the face of the 3D World completely now, or are you still be working in 3Dlalaland??

Hi Anthony!

Nice photos! After I stoped working fulltime with computers I found that returning to photography was very relaxing and a more meditative aproach to art.

Now, is that your car? :)

Hi Anthony!

Thanks for making this content availabe for free and I have to say this is quality stuf. I have learnt a lot about lighting with the lighting videos. In your post you have mentioned that you will try to make them available for downloads. I was wondering if you are still thinking of doing so because it will be a big help to be able to watch them whenever needed. Many thanks again for this brilliant content.

Yes, thank you very much for sharing. :)

Hmm what is the problem with streams ?

If you own QT you can save the vid after stream, no need to find some URLs ect.(and it uses no more bandwith)

Or im wrong?

Anyway thanks for sharing your tuts.

Edit:

I like especialy the nature photos. :)

However none of the links seem to work for me... they just lead me to a blank page and say that theyre done.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I believe Anthony is currently in the process of moving the modeling vids to a faster server (i think)..... we were probably choking his bandwidth by dl-ing them...

it's not a browser prob

Hi anthor,

I appreciate the free content and you trying to save bandwidth, but wouldnt you save more bandwidth if people could download each file once, and save them directly to their computer for future viewing? Rather than having to re-stream it all again, should they wish to re-watch them at a later time? I'm having a hard time understanding your logic.

Thanks for the vids, (even though I havent got them working yet in Firefox).

its true, i have to say i love what you're doing and i will be watching them all, but i hate streaming video, at least its in .mov if it was a wmp streaming video, i might as well forget it as the stupid things always lock up at some point and never recover, and the buffering...oh the horrible buffering.
anyway you're not using wmp so its a moot point. but even so i think it'd be better and more usefull to let people DL the files, the only thing i can think of is you're worried they will get distriputed outside your site, but if you just put a small watermark with your URL then that solves all the problems anyway.

nope streaming media is a pain in the ass, you can't go back and check little sections quickly, if you have limited DL on your isp you eat it up really quickly, you cant stop and turn you PC off in the middle of whatching a vid...if i had it my way i'd ban the damn technology.
still you're the man in control and beggars can't choosers so i guess we'll live with it, but if you're at all thinking about alternatives PLEASE PLEASE get rid of the streaming...

there i said it lol :p

It's not working for me either, and I tried both IE and Firefox, click the images next to the text, nothing pops up.. it just goes blank white except the header, and tries to load an .html page or something. Frustrating, since the videos look great. :) Please fix, or someone else upload them. Thanks

Hi, Just tried them and they load fine for me, It would be cool to be able to d/l them to watch them anytime I want, even with QT pro on my PC I cant save, ho hum.

Great training though, plus Mesmer is a great company just a shame they went under,
they sent me a free copy of XSI Illuminated when I was sold an old version via Amazon,
VERY good service, here in the UK you'd NEVER get that.

Try installing quicktime alternative and loading them. I just got a new harddrive and am using that instead of the quicktime player. With that it gave me a option to stream or download it. Anyways all of the videos worked for me so you might want to check that out.

Quicktime alternative?

Nevermind, found it. :) Thanks. I'll try that.

I got the same error. I don't get it. Do I have to login to use it or something? :( This is quite frustrating.

EDIT: It's really odd, cause the other videos all work fine. Just not the Modeling for Animation ...
