The promised beta SDK from valve is out now. The update adds lots of new functions to Hammer, and also enables the long awaited Dod:Source SDK.
Be sure to check it out, the new functions in Hammer are really useful and include:
- Complete HDR support
- Autosaving
- 2D wireframe view for models
- New model browser
- Scaling texture lock
- Model fade preview
Be sure to check these (and many more) functions out in the beta SDK.
You can activate the beta SDK by adding "-beta sdk" to your steam shortcut, eg.
"C:\program files\steam\steam.exe" -beta sdk
Be warned this is still beta software and thus may give you errors or loss of functionality. Use it at your own risk. Be sure to backup your sourcesdk.gcf in case you need to revert to the old SDK. Some settings in Hammer will be overwritten.
