with the font in max script how do you tell the 1 from the lower case L?

Change the font :)
(I am using Arial so I can see the difference, but then capital I and lower case l appear the same...)

Yeah it's pretty hard to see the difference ;) My solution to this is to NOT use l (L) as a variable..

I am used to Verdana, which l is slightly taller than I.

Ha! good question. i love my courier font but I don't have much problem, it is a bit context specific ancd I guess like Martijn said I don't usually use l as a variable name
