View Full Version : Polygon creases at Joints
Elucid Concepts 11-21-2005, 05:04 PM I'm modelling the human body, and I get all these wrinkles and creaeses where the joints are. I read a tutorial that says to space out each polygon evenly. Will this help decrease the wrinkles, or will I just have to mesh-smooth it like 7 times?

Hi!
it's a very common problem, but you don't need to mesh smooth a lot to solve it. I don't think it would solve the prob, anyway, it would just make the model very heavy and difficult to manage. Spacing the polys evenly helps, and also slicing or cutting them in the right places. It's tricky and it takes time, try with a test model of an arm, just a simple one, skinned, and start adding slices where more sensible. Another trick is to add a relax modifier to the rebellious vertexes. :) Hope this will help, let me know ;)
