Ok I'm having two problems... the first is, whenever I save a scene I have, it will sort of save it, but it won't really save it. It'll just save a state from several hours ago? I saved two copies just in case something like this couldn't happen, and both copies are identical but old.

Secondly. I have my render resolution set to 640 x 480 in the Render Settings, however it always renders out at 940x720 or something like that... I can't change it.. any ideas?

Well, I have never had this particular problem, but when maya starts going fruity on me I usually wind up deleting my preferences. What I normally do is what I like to call my "Microsoft Solution", which is to rename my maya directory in My Documents and then start maya. This forces Maya to reset everything back to factory default and create a shiny new maya directory. Then I move my projects folder and customized shelves into the squeaky clean directory. If you have any custom scripts and things like that, you will have to bring those in as well.

Probably not the solution you would like to hear, but this always seems to work for me. I am sure there is a way to just remove the prefs file and accomplish the same thing, but renaming the original directory guarantees that I haven't missed anything.
