Anyone got any idea how to make a good realistic glitter material, such as you may find "painted" onto certain christmas baubles for example? Thinking about what glitter is, it's lots of small, highly reflective, flat squares pointing in random directions. I can't readily see how that could be accurately recreated with procedural noise shaders, but I'm willing to bet that's just a lack of imagination on my part!

Maybe this one? It has a metallic glitter effect...

Hi Matt - just a simple test, here's one with a tiny noise as bump with the environment as an HDR image (multiplied with a coloured fresnel) - highlights added for extra Christmassy effect ;-)

Not sure if this is realistic enough though.

I have a snow material with glitter.
Check the channels, especially reflection, bump and specular color.
Good luck!

Have a nice day!
