Hi Rebecca, :)
Thanks for your re-welcome!

Here are 2 more. Though all the weaknesses of these drawings, I think I'm improving a bit after each one. It's probably not obvious, but it's important to feel better and better while drawing.
Some of my goals, for now, are too get more strength (stronger contrast and bigger black areas) and more subtility too.

Arctis,

You're quite welcome! :) Your work shares some similarities I think with the sensibilities of Siju ~ you should definitely check out his Anatomy Thread, if you've not already, which is here:

Hey,

Nice one, good use of contrast. There's often something meditative in your picture, like if the presence of the subject was suggested... great sensibility : you really develop a special digital style.

Keep it up !

Pierre,

Thanks a lot! That's a nice compliment coming from you. :) BTW, I saw your 'naked elf (http://www.tsofa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=474)' image over at TSOFA, it's really beautiful! As always, I'm a fan. :)

Rebeccak,

thanks for the answer, I also thought I might work more on some of these to see what will happen :).
So two more for today the first with ink and gouache and the second with ball pen, trying different mediums:

Heya chem, :)

Nice work! It's cool, everyone's got a really different style going on, and it's all working for them.

For image posts, it's best to copy and paste the url of your image into the EDIT POST text editor's image icon, which is the yellow square mountain / sun icon you'll see ~ that way, we'll all be able to see your image instead of a link. :)

Thank you! :) More nice drawings ~ great to see! I think your first drawing in particular in quite thoughtful and nice. It lends itself quite nicely to traditional or digital painting ~ do you do any oil painting? I think you would be quite good at it ~ the way you've broken up the light in the piece definitely says a lot about how you see.

Hi Queensoul, Rebecca and Everyone,

oje, I need more practice with speedpainting, to find my „quick safe line“ of painting.
Also here in this thread interesting, how different the paintings from everyone's look, but all are cool and nice.
Here are my first action-speedpaintings at all (a little break of OFD12) :D

Oh, haven't checked out this thread for far too long!

So many new people (for me at least:D )

Ravena - glad you found your way in here! These look great, especially since you do them in color. The face on the first dancer is.... spitze!

heartbeat - I like tha absence of lines in the shadings of your first sketch in the last post of yours!

chem - crazy hair, beautiful stroke fluidity

Suzi - great new approach and strong strokes

Ah, you people make me visit more regularly...

Mr. Mu,

thank you very much, I'm happy that the pictures please you. :)
And here are the next one:
This water-picture was easy to me to do in 18 Minutes.
http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/8761/wasser16003ar.jpg
But the monkey-baby, so difficult with overall fingers and hands to paint it in 15 Min. I did not know no more which finger where belonged. :D I stopped after 25 Minutes, because of the "speed-rules".

http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/8312/affe16000na.jpg

The cow ... loool. 25 Min. (Many minutes has gone out for find the right brush.)

http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/6541/kuh11xd.jpg

First I thougth, the blue light would come along because the cow affected the electrical fence, before I noticed that it was probably a reflection of the camera. Now, there evenly a blue light between the nostrils sits. :D

Thanks, just the photo was good .I had only one try with oil painting .I had set a still life and used only black and white.Didn't come very well. But now I think to begin learning to paint somehow.I thought about gouache and again black and white.

Ravena,
Those monkeys and the cow are very cool :).

Mr. Mu,

Hey all!
First, thanks a lot to everybody here for making this thread fun. And above all making 15min of sketching exercise a great way of learning. Although i have been working on digital painting but 15 mins. is quite tough a time for me to refine the detailing and outlook of pose. Yet by working on it i have realized the importance of stick drawing for basic pose. I am in the phase of learning anatomy so would enjoy suggestions for improvement.PS,15min.

Great to see these! When drawing clothed figures, try to determine / imagine what the figures look like without their clothes ~ generalize the form first, then drape clothing around them.

Siju,

Beautiful sketch, as always! Thanks for asking about the class ~ it hasn't started yet, but will on Feb. 10th. Very excited, as so far, around 22 people have signed up! Should be a blast...

I got REALLY carried away with this. Probably around 30 minutes.

http://www.freakachu.org/hitomi/images/15min9.jpg
I tried to see if I could show the form without using lines so much as color and value... Yeah, I can't.

http://www.freakachu.org/hitomi/images/15min10_15.jpg
Big thank-you to QueenSoul for adding the reference for this... Saw this picture while looking up horses with fuzzy feet, and fell in love. :) This is after 15 minutes, but I felt I really couldn't do her justice in such a short time, so I went further.
http://www.freakachu.org/hitomi/images/15min10_25.jpg
This is after about 25 minutes (so 10 minutes longer).
I heard somewhere that a good face pulls the image together, while a bad one ruins it... Guess that's true for horses, too.

That'd be great if you could have a look Rebeccak

Well I don't have any trainning really, apart from my Art class in school (i'm 15)- but the teacher may aswell not be there, he just comes in and pretty much goes 'draw' and thats it. Doesn't teach us anything at all then he complains like hell about why we don't do anything. So I thought i'd try and teach it my self

Alex[RM-UK],

What a shame about your art class! Ah, well, good thing there's the internet, and this fabulous community here on CGTalk! :)

I definitely recommend checking out the following thread, and trying some of the Exercises that are posted in the beginning:

Beginners' Lounge (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=297229)
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=297229

Also check out:

BEGINNERS' Drawing Workshop - Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=269026)
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=269026

The above thread uses the classic book, 'The NEW Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain', and I first acquired the older version of the book when I was a bit younger than you...it's an excellent book, and a recommendation for anyone who is interested in learning how to draw. :)

A great guide to many of the threads we have here in the Anatomy Forum is:

Tutorials, Workshops, Anatomy Reviews & More ... [links within] (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=273525)
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=273525

I'm pretty busy with the CGWorkshop which just started today, but rest assured I check the forums daily and will try to answer any questions you may have. :)

Just another one, just 15mn, i know it because my screen saver is set on 15mn :scream:, telling me "FINISHED !"
Hard to evaluate things when you're in a hurry... Now i see that feets on ref are more to the left, giving more a "in motion feeling", but on my drawing, i made all too "verticaly".
One more time, my brain tricks me :D

Well, this is ridiculously over 15 minutes, but...
http://www.freakachu.org/hitomi/images/15min11_63.jpg
Tried Nebz' blending tool and generally experimented with this image, but I'm not certain whether that made it better or worse.
Progression:
15 min (http://www.freakachu.org/hitomi/images/15min11_15.jpg)
24 min (http://www.freakachu.org/hitomi/images/15min11_24.jpg)

Thanks for the comments, Queensoul and Rebecca. :) Also, thank you for creating the Sketchathon; I'm fairly certain I've improved a lot simply because of the few sketches I've done for it.

Nice work, inkonyto! I don't believe you about having no spontaneousity: those shots look full of motion, and I think capture the action perfectly. What more could you ask for? :)

Hi guys: New special set reference images just posted by me. Special because I was the photographer. A very bad one but am just sharing the poses with y'all :P
The young lady is my husband's 13 year old niece. She is attending art school herself. Her parents gave permission for me to post. Kira wants me to print her a copy of all your drawings of her, so she can put them in her art folder :)

Lemog: Your kind words are most apreciated. That's not actually a style, though. It's more like a strategy for frustration. When things don't come out like i'd want them to(last two days),I just draw without worrying of how it's gonna come out.

Elsie: Lemog is right. You're supposed to sketch, lay down basic forms and colors...You went well beyond that in 15 mins.I call it a very good job  .

I just found this thread, and it looked really cool. I figured I would start with the first pic posted and go from there, if thats OK. This one came out pretty bad, but its my first attempt trying to use just my tablet, so I guess its going to take some time to get used to. This one took about 15 minutes I think. I might try another one tonight, if not I will keep doing them on my lunch breaks.

I really needed something like this, to constrain myself on live drawing. And 15 min don't take so much time. I feel like I'm back to school, my teacher used to break the paper of everyone who'll continue drawing after her stop...she was really taugh, but she teached really good.

I chose some bladerunners pics, I agree, one of the best movies, and books, ever.
I used once, to make exercises on movie frames, with a pause on a video (not dvd, I'm getting old), it would last about 5 minutes and that was the time.
So glad I can do it agian, it's like taking class.

And what I loved most on those lessons is taking a look at the great sketches my classmates made, like here

A big Ciao to everyone and happy to have this opportunity, CG is a wonderful place.

The first...ehm, started to look like a transgender, then I misplaced the eyes....Starwars look!

Second..that perspective was really taugh
