I've been playing around with gmax recently as a precursor to moving on to play with the big boys with 3DS Max (being pretty much a complete 3D modelling novice). I've spent many hours on this, with the intent of exporting the model to 3DS Max when happy with it. However, I've discovered that it 3DS Max doesn't like gmax files and vice-versa, so all my hours of toil with gmax may have to be abandoned when I move to 3DS Max.
Is there any way at all that a .gmax file could be prodded, poked, tweaked or beaten with sticks so that I can use it in 3DS Max? Otherwise I'll have to cry big salty tears as all that hard work goes down the drain.
