Hi, could someone please give me some advice as to how I can texture a large landscape such as the attached visual shows?
I am producing an animation to show some new buildings, and have started from the ground. I have modelled and contoured the land using a displacement map, have shapeMerged in a road and car parking spaces, and have conformed road markings onto the landscape.
I now need to texture map this area, and would like to know what procedure is best.
In the past, I have simply tiled various grass and tarmac textures over the surface using material id's and some blend maps to create some variation.
But I would love to produce something a little better,(for closeups) and I am really impressed by the ground texturing seen in games such as San Andreas (and this is even real-time!).
Can anyone help me achieve this?
