is there any software that allows vector lines, type or shapes and gradients (not just ramps) to be draw on Uv'S ? if not, why?

is it not really possible? i would imagine a rasterizing process to help speed would be needed?

Discreet's Combustion does this when coupled with 3ds Max. Live 3D paint with vector-based tools.

pretty much what iv been looking for thanks

now if only the tools could be directly on the mesh :)

I think it actually is, just not shown in the video. Ask about it on the Autodesk webboard, the guy who demos it would probably reply. Can't recall his name offhand.
