View Full Version : Stiching edge loops
JoelOtron 11-17-2005, 10:14 PM In the old stitch and sew plugin, (which I am more accustomed too using then R9/9.5's stitch tool) you could select 2 edge loops and stitch/generate a poly loop between them when there was only empty space between them b4.
Is this possible now? There are no real attributes/controls for the stitch function (other than n-gons and select vis elements)
TIA!

Yeah--figured it out--everythime I've used it I guess I'm waiting for something to magically happen. I had to click and drag.
cool. :)
also you can use cntrl or shift as modifiers to give you different results with stitch&sew.
cheers

thanks Tim.
Only been using 9 for about 2-months now, so havent hit all the tools yet.
While we're here, is there a skip polygon function when using poly-loop selection? (a meshsurgery favorite) HAvent found it if there is (of course I could RTFM)
One more thing that tiesa into your post last week Tim--
is there a way to make some tools default like we can with objects?
I want to get rid of that pre-checked "restrict to selection" modifier for the knife tool.
Thanks

Hi Joel,
just set the tools as you would want them to be, then save the file as new.c4d under the c4d root.

Thanks for the tips Jean-Pierre and Tim
I notice, however that the "make default" command is greyed out in the AM for some of the tools.
I wonder how difficult it would be for Maxon to allow the default attribute to function for tools?
(goes off to the maxon suggestion page...)
