The h.264 mov is recommended since it produce better quality at smaller file size.

Thank you very much, Framestorm, for your very generous comments.
nice modeling reel, i like the face modeling specially.
i have a few crits,
first, the continuity of the reel in broken, since you started with an organic model first(the head) show all the organic stuff then show the car model.
second, the feet(specially the toes) of the model may need some work.
third, i would love to see a rendered turntable of the car with reflections/specular to determine surface uniformity.
over all, the mesh topology looks really clean and uniform. love the happy buddha

yeah nice reel man, congrats about riggin and anim even there's some problem in your body deformations i think but it looks great anyway, the rest is cool also, nice renders ;)
good luck

fx81 - much thanks for the crits
-I did thought about putting all the organic models together and the car model last, but from what I read, companies usually look at the first minute or less of the reel to see if there's anything they like. So I felt that I should put the car toward the front to show that I can do hard surface as well as organic modeling.
-With the feet and toes, can you be more specific in what you think I should fix?
-I had planned on rendering a turntable with the reflections/specular etc. but it would take too long and I would have to deal with flickering issues as well, so I thought still renders were sufficient. But I will consider doing a turntable render of the BMW when I have time.
Cipher - thank you also for your comments and crits
I agree with you that there are still work left with the body deformations, but since I'm looking for a modeling position only, I felt that it was ok to leave it at that for the moment. I am still working on it and will try to improve the deformations.

I thought you had a pretty solid reel here. I don't really have too much to crit after just viewing the whole thing once.
Overall, I really liked the woman's body, though I wonder if more details or even some minimal clothes or props might help make her stand out more perhaps -not that a nude woman doesn't usually get attention mind you, but the ZBrushed elephant really had some punch to it. I thought the car and the elephant were the real stand outs in your reel.
Wish you the best! :buttrock:

Wow! awesome modeling man!! Love the heads. Are you self-taught?
for the foot/toes i think the over all anatomy of the toes need to be looked at, for example the height of the toes need to be flatter specially the thumb toe.
that would give more weight to the feet. also the toes usually bend at the end where they contact the ground. things like that.
great work on the over all model!
btw, the elephant zbrush work looked great too

webhead - thanks for your comments. By putting clothes or props on the nude woman, it will definitely turn her into a character instead of just a study. Due to time constraints, I opted out of putting clothes and props, which I had planned on doing. But she is still a work in progress and I will definitely flesh her out as a character.
rblitz7 - Well...I recently finished my study at SCAD - Savannah College of Art and Design, but a lot of what I learn as far as with modeling, texturing, rendering, etc. were mostly self-taught [if you count learning from dvds, online tutorials, books, and manuals self-taught]. SCAD is a great school with wonderful facilities - they have excellent animation professors, but as far as modeling and texturing, they were lacking in those area. Though they are still improving.
fx81 - thanks for being more specific with the toes. I will definitely take a closer look at them.
