the link doesnt work, it has javascripting in its html. And copying and pasting doesnt work either. you should try and put it on www.putfile.com (http://www.putfile.com) anyway because with yousendit not everyone will be able to see it and critique it.

Yep, looks like you made it in 10 hours.
The first distant space-cam shot looks good. Compositing this alone onto a static space-cam shot of the earth with camera-shake would be a good direction to take this, and likely result in a much stronger piece.

Two big things to avoid: Intersection(from the turret), and the ability to see the square horizon on the ground plane. I was really impressed by the mushroom cloud- It was flawless if you ignore the square shape at the end:)

The mushroom cloud looks like one of the default maya fluid 2D explosions to me. All it takes is the push of a button and you have an explosion, it doesen't look like he changed it in any way
