ignition 11-17-2005, 11:12 AM Hello , i'm new into Cgtalk Forum , i'm french and sorry for my bad english
So
i would like create a big wave like tsunami animated , the camera will be on bottom of wave and
the inerty of the wave will be animated.
I think create that with terrain polygon with a substract cylinder
Anyone could help me please ?

hey there, I suggetst that if you get good geometry of the wave and probably bone it.. you might then put a good water materiasl and get away with it.
Cary out a search for a site called deepshade, they have shaders there and good water too. Is this for animation???

Hmm,
That is a tough one. I would think thatyou caould probably do an animated texture map to simulate the wave cresting . but breaking is a whole nother story. I know that white caps can be acheieved with using angle of incidence shaders ( if any one is listening can someone develop a faster way to do angle of incidence than dirty nuts?).
maybe you caould animate it using normal maps or SPD for overhangs. Sorry I am just thinking out loud here and dont have a final solution.
