The thing i'm exited most about this is not only the good quality and speed but the seemless integration into CINEMA 4D. It just does not feel like a plugin at all.

So is it more advanced than the MAX version or just the same technoolgy but now CINEMA 4D compatible?

No idea since i never used the max version. Afaik only Stage 1 of fR supports max, while the version for CINEMA 4D is Stage 2 so i guess the version for CINEMA 4D is more advanced or at least more recent.
