View Full Version : Merging Polys
kelasa 11-16-2005, 12:36 AM On a hard-surface model,
After I combound my geometry and have merged the vertices, I have a nasty crease where the geometry was merged. I've used the Sculpt Geometry Tool trying to smooth it out to no avail.
What can I do to illiminate the crease?

i take it you're smoothing ?
just make sure the neighboring vert on the object you are mirroring along the axis you are mirroring from is aligned with the vert that's on the border.

check your normals.. ah.. i mean the normals of your vertices where the meshes where melt together ;)
i am sure they are split appart (or "set to face"), so you will always see a crease, whatever you do. set them all to "average normals" and there should be a fine smooth surface.
